The successful upgrade known as “Proof of Authority 2.0” (PoA2.0) took place on the 17th of November at 8:10 GMT, according to the VeChain Foundation, which is in charge of VeChainThor, the world’s top enterprise-grade blockchain (block 13815000).

PoA2.0 is a protocol upgrade that enhances security and adds a finality device. By completely removing any chance of data loss, this device guarantees VeChainThor can operate on a global scale and successfully meet the needs of real-world customers.

After years of work, the engineering team at VeChain, headed by experts, was able to integrate the advantages of the two most popular blockchain architectures, Nakamoto and Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT), while also minimising their drawbacks.
