Yantai just won a new title after placing third in the 2022 National Logistics Hub Construction Ranking.
All China-Europe (Central Asia) freight train routes, including the European route, the Russian route, the Belarusian route, the Central Asian route, and the Southeast route, are served by Yantai, the first city in Shandong Province. The Information Office of the People’s Government of Yantai City reports that Yantai Port has the eighth-highest capacity for cargo handling among China’s seaports.
The national logistics centre in Yantai Port is organised into two sizable portions and 19 functional zones in terms of layout. Through a comprehensive logistics information platform and receiving and dispatching system, it can achieve resource integration and cooperation. Yantai Logistics Hub will develop into a hub for wheel-to-wheel transportation, a base for commercial vehicle transshipment in Northeast Asia, a mixed land-sea transportation centre in the Yellow River basin, and a storage, transmission, and distribution centre for key strategic materials like energy and ore in northern China.
It will actively expand bulk handling, cross-border handling, cross-border e-commerce, cold chain logistics, supply chain integration, and supply chain finance. It will also strengthen and improve global supply chains, including the China-Africa bauxite supply chain, as well as the integrated use of oil, gas, and energy. These are some of the core functions.
