CyberSecurity Experts Enjoy Highest Demand Across Market

As concerns about cybersecurity grow, industries will encounter a scarcity of cybersecurity expertise.

IT personnel must be trained to become cybersecurity experts, and companies must invest in this training.

Today, businesses all around the world are under siege. As the enemy and weapons are unseen and sophisticated, state and city governments are vulnerable to cyber assaults. Industries have recognized attackers’ ability to wreak havoc, exploit data centers, and create significant financial losses. Such awareness has ultimately resulted in a surge in demand for cybersecurity specialists all around the world.

Data breach expenses are expected to climb from $3 trillion in 2015 to over $5 trillion by 2024, according to Juniper Research research. That’s an average annual increase of 11%, fueled mostly by massive fines for data breaches as regulations tighten.

There’s no denying that there’s a great demand for cybersecurity specialists in the workforce. Every organization — service firms, financial industries, small and large corporations — is concerned about cybersecurity. More focused professional courses introducing cybersecurity fundamentals and security forensics are urgently needed.

Because the responsibilities were done by a combination of specialists from the system and database administration, programming, networking, and data analytics sectors, cybersecurity was never a separate emphasis area in IT. However, in today’s digitally evolved businesses, professional information engineers with an emphasis on cybersecurity are required.

As per Burning Glass Technologies’ analysis long back, a job-market analytics business confirmed that cybersecurity job posts have increased by 94 percent since 2013, compared to only 30 percent for IT roles overall. This is three times quicker than the average rate for other IT professions. It went on to say that cybersecurity positions account for roughly 13% of all IT jobs. On the contrary, even though they pay 16 percent more, these roles take around 20% longer to fill than other IT roles.

Because of the worldwide reliance on technology – cloud storage and IoT – businesses and governments must be prepared for new cyber hazards that emerge on a daily basis. Businesses undergoing a digital transformation must devote more resources and time to combating hackers, repairing vulnerable systems, and monitoring potential data breaches.

After COVID-19, budgets will be reduced, and jobs will be lost all around the world. Skills in the cybersecurity space would be one of the most in-demand to survive the crisis.

The proper mix of skills could be what drives the long-term viability of remote working solutions, which have kept global businesses going despite the shutdown.
